Amid cries the food industry is taking Christ out of Christmas, one chain restaurant is shaking things up, and the result has gone viral.
A photo of the nativity painted on a Tennessee McDonald’s[1]https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10207979977287427&set=a.1511694402470.65199.1537685759&type=3&theater now boasts more than 103,500 likes, 71,000 shares and nearly 7,000 comments.
“His name is Jesus,” reads the first window pane, followed by a cow, the virgin Mary, baby Jesus, a shepherd and a sheep, while “Rejoice” finishes out the display.
Michigan-native Amy Basel says she did a double take when she drove by.
“Growing up in the mitten, you would NEVER see this,” Basel says. “Tennessee McDonald’s … you made my day. ‘His name is Jesus.'”
The thousands of comments on the photo include everything from “Praise God!” to “yeah!” to “Happy birthday, Jesus!”
It’s certainly heart-warming to see the birth of Christ celebrated like this.
