The king serves his King

We first met HT Long many years ago in Wesley Methodist Church in Segamat, Malaysia.

Pastor Paul George invited us to speak and HT happened to be there at the same time so he introduced him as “a faithful servant of God who has been travelling all over Malaysia to preach and sing. Like John Wesley riding his horse throughout England preaching the Gospel, HT has been driving his faithful old car circling Malaysia preaching in all venues, big and small. He is known as the Elvis Presley of Malaysia – he sings like the pop king but he preaches about the King of kings”.  I convinced our congregation to invite HT to Perth for a series of evangelistic concerts. Because of his popularity we have invited him back several times.

Last week out of the blue he called us on the phone while we were at a fellowship meeting. We were shocked that he had had a stroke 9 months ago and has lost a bit of his memory and movement.  Over the phone he expressed his gratitude to God for his gradual recovery, the faithful care of his wife Susie and son Aaron. We felt led to ask about his financial condition. Reluctantly he admitted the treatment is costly but he does not make known his needs.

We prayed for his family and felt God wanted us to bless them with a Christmas gift. We also think making this known may stir up more prayer support. end48

  1. December 2015: Feedback from readers for ArticleHT Long the Malaysian Elvis Presley

Goldie – You have done the right thing in making H T Long’s situation known.

Often we think those who minister to us can live on faith and faith alone, especially those who labour independent of any church.

” Let us do good to all men especially those of the household of faith as we have opportunity,” teaches Paul.

I have heard of Malaysia’s Elvis Presley and his remarkable testimony and the testimony of an even more remarkable God.

It will be a privilege to meet him. Thanks for his wife’s email contact.
