Celebrating Family Reunions
image: “With grandkids in Perth”
After celebrating Tek’s birthday with our family reunion in Perth in August in which all our daughters (From China, London and Perth) with their children were all present (except one son-in-law) we celebrated it again with a private tour of Taiwan with Tek’s 5 remaining siblings and their spouses.
“Taiwan group”
Taiwan This trip which had been planned months ago was threatened to be cancelled at the last minute because of bad weather. Two fierce typhoons came before we were to depart but cleared up in time. We enjoyed wonderful weather for our one week there. The day after we left a third typhoon crashed. Another blessing: there were no queues or crowds as tourists from China was reduced drastically because of the political situation. Who could have planned such perfect timing for us?

Taiwan evacuates tourists ahead of third storm in two weeks
Taiwan evacuated thousands of tourists from outlying islands and set up nearly 100 shelters.
TAIPEI: Taiwan evacuated thousands of tourists from outlying
islands Monday (Sep 26) and set up nearly 100 shelters across the island as it braced for its third typhoon in two weeks. The east coast is still reeling from damage caused by Super Typhoon Meranti earlier this month — the strongest storm for 21 years to hit Taiwan — followed by Typhoon Malakas. The same part of the island is in the firing line again from approaching Typhoon Megi, which is already bringing strong winds and waves. It is due to make landfall on the east coast on Tuesday and forecast to bring almost a metre of rain to some areas over three days. Ferries to Taiwan’s Green Island and Orchid Island were halted Monday after more than 3,700 visitors were evacuated over the weekend.
Peace and harmony
To ensure a harmonious and pleasant atmosphere on the tour among family members, we said we must abide by the rule “do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen” Eph.4:29 We are glad to report that everyone tried their best to obey resulting in a wonderful time.
