Another year, another gift from God to live for Him. We are thankful for 51 years of wedded bliss and team work (26 Dec 1964 was our wedding in HK). Both Tek’s and my parents had more than 51 years of good marriage. We pray the same for our relatives and friends
We begin the New Year by focusing on our Lord’s Great Commission. In this issue we recount the stories of a few friends from Perth who have stepped out of their comfort zone with their limited personal resources, to obey Jesus’ Great Commission to be witnesses anyhow, anytime, anywhere, at home, in the community, overseas. We pray more will follow their example.
Dr Andrew Kam shares how he reaches people from all around the world without leaving his home in “Armchair Missions”. Marilyn McCutcheon travelled thousands of miles with a team from Perth to Thailand to bring Christian love to prisoners, men and women from all walks of life, all races, all or no religions in “I was in Prison”.
Teresa Tay, a busy wife, mother, grandmother and pastor who could have spent her days enjoying a well-earned rest goes several times a year to support a school in Cambodia because “He told me to build a school”. Zion Praise Harvest Church (mostly of university students) is spending the school break on a mission trip in Cambodia at this very time.
We just came to know our longtime friend singing evangelist “HT Long the Malaysian Elvis Presley” has been out of action for nine months. A successful businessman, he gave up his up his business to answer God’s call, travelling all over Malaysia and the world to sing and preach.
He is now recovering from a stroke. We honour this faithful servant of God.
God bless, Tek & Goldie

2016 STRAINING TOWARD THE GOAL.
v.11 Straining Toward the Goal v.12 Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. v.13 Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, v.14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
